Who is the Ludwigia glandulosa?
Varieties with red leaves are often more popular in aquariums, but there are also completely green varieties. The color of the leaves also varies with the intensity of the lighting: the stronger the light, the redder the leaves. In aquariums, it is delicate to maintain properly and its growth is very slow.
It can also live emergent in a wet environment, such as an aquaterrarium or a paludarium. In this case, it has a fast growth and can even bloom in summer (its small flowers are yellow). To note that this plant supports rather well the passage immersed/emerged.
Planting and maintenance
Planting and maintenance
How to plant and maintain the Ludwigia glandulosa?
This plant will absolutely need a lot of light and CO2 diffusion to grow. Moreover, make regular contributions of fertilizer and iron. As regards water parameters, the temperature should not be too high, with an ideal at 22°C or 72°F.
On the density side, plan 5 or 6 feet every 20 cm (8").
Cut the leaves providing shade at the base of the plant.
Is your plant dying despite your efforts? Take it out of the water to cultivate it in emergent, it is much easier (wet soil).
Farming
