Who is the Tiger lotus?
This plant is of a formidable decorative effect with its large, nicely tiger-like leaves. To admire it, plant it in the central area of your aquarium.
It can flower in open aquariums. To do so, let the plant grow until it reaches the surface. Its leaves will then emerge. In this configuration, the plant can bloom completely!

How to plant and maintain the Tiger lotus?
Given its size, either you should plan an aquarium that is big enough if you do not wish to see it emerged, or the aquarium is open and in this case it can be more modest, since the plant will continue to grow out of the water.
Ideal conditions are low water hardness and nutrient-rich soil. The Tiger Lotus also needs a high level of light as well as a CO2 supply.
Place your plant in the nutritious substrate but do not bury the rhizome to prevent it from rotting.
When some leaves reach the surface but you don't want your plant to be so big, cut them off. This will restore strength to the foot.
If your plant only produces small leaves, don't hesitate to give it fertilizer at the base and spread a little CO2. Guaranteed results!

How to farm the Tiger lotus?
The healthy plant naturally produces daughter plants attached to its bulb.

The Tiger Lotus can't bear to be fully emerged and dies fairly quickly in this situation. Therefore, remove it from the aquarium only in case of force majeure and for a very limited time.
There are two colour variations: a green 'Green' and a red 'Red' (Zenkeri).
The large leaves of this plant (when it reaches the top of the aquarium, of course) are very popular with surface fish. It makes these fish very secure, and some will use it to build their bubble nest (like the Gourami for example). If you want your Tiger Lotus to grow on the surface of your aquarium, don't put other floating plants.
Yours photos!
